How to Measure for a New Cover
Picking out a cover is an important part of owning a hot tub or spa. However, getting the right one can be easier said than done. Making sure your measurements are correct is vital, and Recreational Concepts Inc can help.
For the best results, measure your existing cover and not your spa:
- For the best results, measure across the seam and measure the perpendicular to that.
- If your spa has cut-out radius corners, you need to measure them as well.
- Finally, measure the skirt size. This is the small flap that is sewn onto the bottom of the cover. The skirt covers the acrylic lip that sticks out from the spa cabinet.
If you don't have a cover to work with, then you'll need to look at the dimensions of your spa. You'll want to add on size for the skirt, which is essentially a 2-inch flap around the side. The skirt should sit easily over the edges of the spa with little room to spare.
It's better to make sure your cover is a little bigger than your spa. If you go with a cover that is too small, it will not fit properly and heat will escape. It can also be helpful to look at the shape of your space. It's a lot to think about, but you don't have to worry.
